Project Overview: 

In partnership with the Town of Oakville, Conservation Halton is undertaking a study to update flood hazard modelling and mapping within Kent Gardens, the QEW Corridor, Midtown Oakville Growth Area and adjacent areas (See Figure 1). To support the finalization of the study, Conservation Halton requires:

• a signed and sealed hydrotechnical structural analysis of the stability of the Trafalgar Road and Eighth Line crossings of the Morrison-Wedgewood Diversion Channel under the forces anticipated during the 1:100 year storm and Regional Storm (Hurricane Hazel) flood events,
• a technical review of Conservation Halton’s draft, final draft, and final hydraulic models (1D and 2D) and associated flood hazard map sheets and reporting comprising the Flood Hazard Mapping Study: Sixteen Mile Creek to Lower Morrison Creek, and
• representation by the Successful Proponent during consultation on the final draft mapping and reporting.

Project work will be on-going through the fall of 2024 to spring of 2025.  The Successful Proponent will review the modelling approach and draft modelling in fall 2024, in conjunction with completing the initial hydrotechnical analysis of structural stability. Final draft modelling, and draft mapping and reporting are to be reviewed in early Q1 2025, with a subsequent review of final draft mapping and reporting and finalization of the hydrotechnical structural review occurring in late Q1 2025, to support public consultation in spring 2025.
