Description: |
Conservation Halton is a watershed management agency that works to protect, restore and manage natural resources within our jurisdiction through the delivery of services and programs that operate in partnership with all levels of government and landowners as well as business and environmental organizations. Conservation Halton’s jurisdictional area spans approximately 1,000 km2 and comprises 17 watersheds across multiple municipalities, including the Cities of Hamilton, Burlington, and Mississauga, Towns of Oakville, Milton, and Halton Hills and the Township of Puslinch within the Regional Municipality of Hamilton, Regions of Halton and Peel, and County of Wellington Conservation Halton’s mission is to help protect the natural environment, from lake to escarpment, for the benefit and enjoyment of present and future generations. It is essential to be good stewards of the natural environment; it is our natural heritage. Protecting and maintaining our natural heritage in turn benefits human, ecological, and economic health. We are reliant on a healthy ecosystem and natural spaces, just as animals and plants are. We inherited our natural spaces from the generations before us and will pass them on to our children and future generations. Stewardship, which includes wise, informed decision making, will help ensure that generations to come will be able to enjoy the natural heritage that we have today. Conservation Halton has received a Federal and Provincial Grant to Enhance Trail systems and Park infrastructure. Project Overview Conservation Halton is seeking proposals for the Design and Construction of a natural Playground for Kelso Quarry Park and a Tactile Play Space for Kelso Conservation area. |
